Stage 5 - Glenwood Springs to Leadville

Stage 5 of the Race Across Colorado - The Queen Stage
After a transfer from Steamboat Springs the previous afternoon, racers will start at the world famous hot springs in downtown Glenwood Springs. The stage starts on nice wide highways to Aspen for the first sprint point. After Aspen riders tackle Independence Pass. Topping out at over 12,000 ft, this is the longest toughest climb of RAC. The race then heads over to Leadville, where it will traverse around Turquoise Lake before a sprint in downtown Leadville. This stage should see some major time gaps between contenders.

Distance - Approximate 120 miles with over 8500 ft of climbing!
KOM - Independence Pass
Sprints - Aspen & Leadville
